"Robert Smythe Hichens (1864-1950) was an English journalist, novelist, music lyricist, short story writer, music critic, and collaborated on successful plays. He is best remembered as a satirist of the "Naughty Nineties." The first Lady Brendon separates from her husband while on an archeological dig in Egypt in the early 1900s and scandals ensue."

Book is in Very Good condition. Some fading/staining to the covers. A few faint scratches to the front cover. Spine has faded. Corners are bumped a bit. Slight speckling to outside page edges. Interior is in Very Good condition. Foxing/speckling seen a little bit on flyleafs and on a few pages. Page next to title page has a woman's red lipstick kiss (!). A few pages have folds at the top corners. Otherwise, majority of the pages are bright and clean.
