The item used in this performance is a special Prefecture Card set.
These cards are 146mm tall and slightly less than 90mm wide, significantly larger than standard playing cards, making them visually appealing and suitable for close-up magic. They can also be used in various situations, including parlor and stage performances.

The 47 Prefecture Cards, each featuring a different Japanese prefecture, are distributed roughly evenly among four spectators.

The performer claims to memorize the first spectator's pile and proceeds to perform accordingly. The spectator freely chooses a card from their pile, and that card is then mixed into the second spectator's pile.
The performer looks at the second spectator's pile and correctly identifies the card chosen by the first spectator.
