An exceptionally well formed fully terminated Herkimer Diamond Quartz Cluster from the Turtle Clan Mine in Fonda, NY. A very interesting lesser known claim that sits upon Native American Indian land of the Kanyen keha ka Indian Tribe which translates to the people of the chert. This has now thought to be a mistranslation. More accurately they are the people of the Quartz crystals. This land was purchased by the dutch in the 1600s. This is a branch of the Mohawk Indians which were and are part of the Iriquois Nation. So a historically significant mine.
