Vintage Royal Winton Grimwades Summertime Salt Pepper with TrayGrimwades pottery, founded in 1885, operated from 1900-1964 producing a wide range of tableware pottery items out of Stoke-on-Kent. Royal Winton was added as trade name in the early 20th century when King George V and his wife, Queen Mary patronized the Grimwades products, therefore adding 'Royal ' to the name. The 'Summertime' pattern, a bouquet of English countryside summer flowers, was the second chintz pattern becoming the most successful of the more than sixty patterns produced there after. .
Preowned in good vintage condition; crazing, minor gilt and shelf wear. Stamped with blue Royal Winton Grimwades/Summertime on tray ( enlarge pictures details on condition); England on S/P. The S/P shakers have red stoppers (shakers have broken cork inside; I am not sure if red stoppers are original). Measurements approx. - tray: 6" L; shakers 2.25" H and 1.75" base
