Rare single Vintage Mid-Century TEX GLASS Cobalt Blue Glass THUMBPRINT/Crinkle 14 Oz TUMBLER T1G1Manufactured by TEX GLASS INC., Decatur, Texas, USAHerman Rosenzweig & his wife, Bertha, started Tex Glass, Inc. in Decatur, Texas. Rosenzweig lived in Europe during the Hitler era. He was trained & worked in glass factories, starting his own glass factory in Vienna, fled the Nazis and migrated to Greece, worked for the underground to get Jews out of Central Europe, fled to Egypt and Palestine, and finally migrated to the United States. After opening a glass factory in Athens, TX, they moved to Decatur, TX. Tex Glass Inc. was located in Wise County.The glassware was made during the 50s-60's and was known for a unique design. It is hand blown for unique irregular shape and form. The recessed thumbprints make for a great grip on the glass. No cracks, no chips, great condition. Highly sought by collectors.
