The Staten Islander Magazine, August 1958

Featuring articles/stories about the Staten Island Ferry, the Zoo, and finding records at the library. The magazine looks to the future of the Island and the probability of a "Narrows" bridge. Ironically the magazine has the Verrazzano ferry on the cover, the name later given to the bridge connecting S.I. and Brooklyn. Also, one learns that in the future people will use the airport in Staten Island to fly to Eastern states and use one of two heliports to commute to the city. Maybe it's still in the future. A great look back at the future from 1958.

J. Edgar Hoover also contributes an article.

A few words handwritten on the cover that indicate that The Meurot Club is featured on page 25 with a small tic mark on that page. Slight bend to upper right corner of magazine. Still though, in very good condition for its age.
