The prince nymph is an attractor pattern that does not imitate anything in particular. It is likely that it matches several different nymph species such as mayfly, caddis and stoneflies.
Nymphing is a really basic technique that catches fish. Generally under a strike indicator you will have a weighted nymph. Tied to the bend of the hook you tie on an unweighted nymph. The whole idea is to get them to drift naturally past a feeding trout. You can also put a nymph below a dry fly if you'd like. If nymphing, one can take on the challenge of fishing shallow rapids at the head of a run. Nymphing works really well in still water too.
