kimono Japanese Wedding vintage Silk Well Kept Very Heavy Red Cranes Gold Thread.

Please forgive the photos this is so large it could only be pictured in one place, it is capable of fitting my partner who is 6’6. All of this is embroidered none of it is painted, the bottom is rolled and stuffed, the sleeves are amazing- such exquisite detail. Purchased at the local estate of a collector shūshūka this is an exquisite example of an Uchikake. Google translate lists this as daimyo pattern.

In Japanese, "daimyo" (大名) refers to powerful feudal lords who ruled over vast territories in Japan from the 10th to the 19th century, particularly during the Edo period. The term is derived from "dai" (大), meaning "large," and "myo" (名), referring to "private land" or "name". Essentially, daimyo were the heads of powerful samurai families who controlled large areas of land and had significant political and military power.
