WALT DISNEY STUDIO
The Little Mermaid (1989)

Original production rough animation drawing of Scuttle in blue pencil created by supervising animator of Scuttle Rick Farmiloe. After the wedding ship has sailed with the enchanted Prince Eric, Scuttle peers in through a porthole and discovers that Vanessa is the disguised sea witch Ursula. He flies to where Ariel and Flounder sit on the dock and lands panting "Ariel, I was flying," and in this close-up adds: "of course, I was flying..." A screenshot of the relevant frame at the 1:07:11 time mark from the film is included for reference.

The drawing is on an untrimmed sheet of 12.5" x 17" 5-peghole animation paper, which the animator has noted as "39" at lower right in blue pencil to mark this original's place in the scene, and with sequence and scene numbers "11 32.1" written at bottom in graphite.

VERY FINE condition, with light handling from the animation process.

From a climate-controlled, smoke and pet free home.
