Weeping Buddha - Yogi Man Teak Sculpture - Hand Carved.
A beautiful handmade teak wood carving from Bali Indonesia, brought back on a family trip in the 1990s. Good used condition. Item is hand carved, so there are some small scratches from the carving.
A bit about the piece's story:
Yogiman or Orang malu is the name for the shy man.
He is also "weeping buddha". He is ashamed of the suffering in the world and has taken refuge in meditation.
The image represents the need for introspection of yourself, your own mind, and not the physical world around us.
According to legend, you have to place the yogi man with his face to the door. Visitors stroke his head upon entering and he takes over bad thoughts, so that all visitors enter your house with good intentions.
If you take good care of your yogi man, he will take away your worries.
