Classic real old willow blue porcelain double egg cup, hand painted gold trim and picturesque oriental landscape.
Vintage from the early 20th century
Based on an oriental fairytale about a lovers wedding that was supposed to happen when the willow tree looked its best, the father of the bride didn’t accept the groom and on the day of the wedding to another man chosen by the father, the lovers eloped to an island .
Oriental designs were very popular in Europe once the trade with the orient started . This pattern stopped being produced in 1999.
Before 2nd world war the pattern had a hand painted outer gold edge.
