1858 Collections of the Massachusetts Historical Society Vol IV of the Fourth Series

Publisher: Little, Brown, and Company
Copyright: 1858

Series 4, Volume 4

This collection of historical articles leads with letters to (and from) Boston offering contributions and support in response to the Boston Port Bill which closed the city to trade in 1774 and 1775. This action by the British was a prelude to the American Revolution. The outpouring of support from American cities throughout the colonies was truly inspiring. Other articles include discussions on the Boston Tea party, extinction of slavery in Massachusetts and comments by General Gage. Quarto with 514pp.

Condition: Refer to images. Some minor conservation work done to reattach spine, support front cover, and reattatch back cover using archival filmoplast mending tape.
